PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE IN ON AT

preposition of place is a word which helps to describe where something or

somebody is. A preposition of place describes the location of something.

There are many prepositions of place in the English language and each

of them has several uses.

·         In: Significa “En”.

1- Cities, towns, countries and continents etc. In London, In Spain, in América

(Utilizamos esta preposición cuando el lugar al que nos  referimos

es un área grande, un país,  ciudad o continentes ,una zona geográfica, o

 una región. )

 2- También ENCLOSED SPACES:  Parts of a house: In the kitchen , In the garden,

      In the bedroom

3- OTHER EXPRESSIONS:  In a newspaper

4- SMALL TRANSPORT:  In a car , in a van, in a little boat

  IT IS USED TO EXPRESS THAT AN ELEMENT IS IN A CLOSED SPACE, OR IN AN OPEN SPACE THAT HAS DEFINED LIMITS. (SE UTILIZA PARA
 EXPRESAR QUE UN ELEMENTO SE ENCUENTRA EN UN ESPACIO

Esta preposición nos sirve para indicar posiciones que están sobre 
una superficie, como una calle específica o una esquina en particular. 
·También se utiliza esta preposición para hacer referencia al uso de 
medios de transportes grandes como avión, bus o tren.

·         At: Significa “En”.

WE USE AT to talk about a place as a point. ( Usamos 'at' para hablar de un

lugar como un punto o lugar especifico como un edificio, un hospital, un centro comercial, etc),

use "at"

when talking about positions or locations.

1-Specific building At home- At the airport, At school,

2- Particular position : At the door, At the entrance, At the table

3- Events : At a concert, At a party At a tennis match

4- For addresses when number and street are mentioned: para referirnos a una dirección específica. En este caso, se conoce el número y el nombre de la calle o del sitio en particular.
