A nivel gramatical, las preguntas negativas con el verbo to be siguen la misma estructura que las afirmativas,

agregando la partícula not:

SUBJECT + VERBO TO BE + NOT + PREDICADO

TO BE QUESTIONS ( INTERROGATIVA)

To create questions with To Be, you put the Verb before the Subject. 

(Para crear preguntas con To Be, colocas el verbo antes del sujeto. )

TO BE - SHORT ANSWERS

In spoken English, we usually give short answers in response to questions.

Are you a student? - Yes, I am (a student). 

We use shorts answers to avoid repetition, when the meaning is clear.

(SER O ESTAR - RESPUESTAS )

En inglés hablado, normalmente damos respuestas breves a las preguntas.    ¿Es usted un estudiante? - Sí, soy un estudiante).
